PRNEWS.IO: Could you introduce yourself and share the key milestones in your professional journey as a COO in the financial and tech sectors?

I’m Terri-Leigh Bennett, and I’ve had the privilege of building a fulfilling career in both the financial and tech sectors. Some of the key moments in my journey include starting a crypto exchange and NFT marketplace from the ground up, leading the development of our first trading app, and stepping into the role of COO for the exchange I helped create. Prior to these milestones, I worked as a COO at companies in Spain and London, where I gained invaluable experience scaling operations, building strong teams, and driving innovation in highly competitive environments.

A role I’m especially proud of is my position as COO at CMS Financial. Working for such a reputable company with a rich history of over 20 years in the market has been incredibly rewarding. CMS Financial holds the highest regulation in the region with Category 1 and Category 5 licenses from the SCA, which speaks to the trust and integrity we uphold in our operations. Contributing to this legacy and helping guide the company’s continued success has been an honor. These diverse experiences have equipped me to lead with purpose and navigate complex industries with confidence.

PRNEWS.IO: How do you leverage media platforms like Fox Business and Newsmax to build and manage your professional reputation?

Media platforms like Fox Business and Newsmax play a big role in establishing credibility and sharing my professional message. Through these channels, I can express my thoughts on industry trends and share the innovations developed by my teams. These platforms help me connect directly with a wide audience, allowing me and the companies I represent to be seen as knowledgeable voices in finance and technology. Regular engagement with reputable media not only boosts my reputation but also builds trust in our company offerings.

PRNEWS.IO: What strategies do you employ to establish credibility and overcome gender barriers in technology and finance?

To earn credibility, I concentrate on delivering results that speak for themselves. By focusing on innovation, consistency, and high standards, my work gets recognized regardless of my gender. I actively network with other professionals, attend important events, and utilize platforms like LinkedIn to share my experiences and successes. Facing gender barriers requires determination and self-belief—I don’t allow stereotypes to hold me back. Instead, we invest in strong teams and partnerships and mentor other women entering the field.

PRNEWS.IO: Describe the role of media publications in shaping corporate and personal brand perception. How do articles contribute to your marketing strategy?

Media publications are great for storytelling. They allow us to shape how our brands are seen and show the values and innovations we bring to the table. Articles help to position me as a leader in my industry while highlighting the successes of the companies I represent. From a marketing perspective, these pieces build trust, attract new clients, and make our brands feel more relatable by connecting with the audience on a personal level.

PRNEWS.IO: What challenges and opportunities have you encountered as a woman leader in media and financial industries?

One of the challenges I’ve faced as a woman leader in media and finance is navigating the unspoken expectations often placed on women in leadership. There’s sometimes a need to prove your expertise and authority before being truly heard. But I’ve come to see this as a superpower. When you consistently deliver value and speak with purpose, you stand out—and people listen.

Being a woman in leadership also gives me a unique perspective, allowing me to approach challenges differently and foster environments where diverse voices and ideas thrive. I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about fitting into a mold; it’s about staying authentic and using your strengths to drive innovation and inclusivity. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding to turn those initial hurdles into opportunities to lead with impact and inspire others to do the same.

PRNEWS.IO: How do social media platforms like LinkedIn help in developing a professional brand and networking?

LinkedIn is incredibly helpful for creating my professional brand. It enables me to share insights, accomplishments, and updates while engaging with professionals around the world. It helps me stay connected with peers, uncover new opportunities, and spot trends that may influence our strategies. Additionally, it’s a place for me to mentor others and take part in meaningful conversations within different sectors.

PRNEWS.IO: What key messages do you aim to communicate through your media appearances and publications?

In my media appearances and publications, I focus on the idea that people are at the heart of every successful business. It’s not just about technology or innovation—it’s about empowering individuals and building strong teams that can adapt and thrive in an ever-changing world. I believe that true leadership comes from supporting others, fostering an environment where people feel valued, heard, and motivated to contribute their best. My message is simple: when you prioritize people—whether clients, employees, or partners—success follows. It’s about creating a culture of collaboration and trust where everyone can grow and achieve together.

PRNEWS.IO: Can you elaborate on the importance of PR strategies in promoting technological and financial projects?

PR strategies are essential for raising awareness and building trust in tech and finance projects. They help communicate the value of our innovations to the audience. A solid PR effort makes sure our message resonates with stakeholders, bringing in investment, talent, and clients. It also reinforces the need for transparency and trust, which are important in industries where decision-making relies heavily on credibility.

PRNEWS.IO: How does your charitable work, such as building a school in Kenya, impact your professional reputation and company image?

Engaging in charitable work shows a dedication to making a positive impact beyond just profits, which resonates with clients, employees, and partners. Building a school in Kenya reflects our commitment to education and community growth. This not only boosts my reputation as a socially responsible leader but also aligns the company with important causes. It fosters goodwill, encourages loyalty, and reinforces the idea that success involves contributing to a better world.

PRNEWS.IO: What advice would you give to young women aspiring to build successful careers in technology and finance?

My advice to young women is to be daring and unapologetic in chasing your aspirations. Build your knowledge, stay curious, and never stop learning. Surround yourself with mentors and supporters who see your potential, and don’t shy away from taking risks. In fact, when something feels scary, that’s often the exact moment you should jump in. Growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone, so say yes to opportunities—they’re everywhere, even if they don’t look like it at first.

Challenges will come, but focus on your strengths and keep moving forward. Have faith in your ability to create meaningful change, and know that your unique perspective is an asset. In the fast-evolving world of tech and finance, your voice and vision can shape the future in ways no one else can.
