It&#8217;s something I picked up in my undergrad literature class. But I have been using it for quite some time now, and it has yielded impressive results and made a few of my clients smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It stands for&nbsp;<strong>Conflict, Climax,&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Resolution.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fear and Desire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Copywriting is for selling goods and services. At that point, it\u2019s useful to remember a fact that has never changed since time immemorial: \u201cPeople buy for two reasons \u2014 fear or desire.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are writing sales or marketing copy, try to determine what people are afraid of or try to understand what their dreams, aspirations are (the desire part). Then either offers a SOLUTION for their problem (fear), or offer a DEAL they cannot refuse (greed). If you can do that, the copy works, and people start to buy your product or service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s my favorite copywriting formula: write to address fears and desires. It always works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PAS: problem, agitation and solution<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe most reliable sales formula ever invented\u201d<\/p>\n<cite>\u2013 Dan Kennedy<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My favorite copywriting formula is PAS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PAS copywriting is a very specific way of writing about your product or service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It combines three elements:&nbsp;<strong>problem, agitation (causes people to be upset), and solution.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best PAS sales letter has all three elements in it, giving the customer a smorgasbord of reasons to buy from you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PAS copywriting is about writing sales copy that offers solutions to the readers&#8217; problems. It involves learning your readers&#8217; problems, the questions they want to be answered, and then creating increasingly persuasive offers that gently lead them toward the ultimate desired outcome: &#8220;<strong>SALE<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FAB: Feature, Advantage, Benefit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This approach is ideal for more deeply engaged prospects and people actively seeking additional information. It centers on your product\u2019s benefit, the \u201cwhat\u2019s in it for me\u201d factor. As the old adage goes, features tell, benefits sell. Painting a very clear picture of just how your prospect will benefit from your product or service gives meaning and emotional value to what would otherwise be empty features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><!-- Shortcode [ctanew] does not exist --><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Best Copywriting Tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">So what?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes when we are writing for a brand, product, or service, maybe even our own, we can get caught up in the details and not remember to think as to why someone else should care about this. It\u2019s important to take a step back and ask yourself \u201cdid I answer the \u201cso what?\u201d question.\u201d Why is this information important, relevant, or even useful?
